From October 2023 till June 2024 I completed a residency at Buckinghamshire New University. I was able to use the equipment at the university and experimented with new ways to make work.
During the residency I used:
- Stoll machine
- Embroidery machine
- Engraving
- Screen printing
- Darkroom
- 3D printer
My Dream Accessible Home

Using the Stoll machine I have created a wall hanging. I started off by creating an image using Photoshop. I used AI and Adobe stock images for the images. The file then needed to be saved as a BMP file for the Stoll machines software.
The work is a wall hanging laid out like a mind-map with the words ‘My Dream Accessible Home’ in the middle and around the outside images and words for what my dream accessible home would include. I am renting and currently finding it challenging not being able to make all the adjustments to my home to make it fully accessible.

Sacred Heart

Using the 3D printer I have printed a 3D model of the sacred heart and painted using acrylic paint. I modified the 3D file to add a hole where I shall place a sensor. I am currently recording the audio. When you walk past the sensor you will hear a conversation about the sacred heart.
Northern Soul
AR work with embroidered QR code that when scanned shows a 3D animated scan of me Northern Soul dancing.

Not quite Brighton
VR work using photographic darkroom prints of a 3D model of Brighton. The work also includes audio and other digital assets.

She was wearing a small bag around her shoulder
Image and text engraved on to felt from my experience of applying to PIP.

Interview jacket
Jacket covered in cyanotype. An ‘interview jacket’ showing images of newspaper headlines, government papers and statistics about disability and employment. There is also an photo from my old signing book and images from ‘The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 : a guide for everybody / [Department for Education and Employment]’.

Bright light!
Screen print on to denim fabric and created into a lampshade. Showcasing the neurodivergent experience of the ‘bright light’.

Studious and curious persons
A very large scarf (maybe more a rug) and a knitted image taking inspiration from the British Museum. Around the scarf are images of the flower door handles and in the middle an image of the lions at the entrance way. The knitted image is made from illustrations from the British Museum Pattern books ‘Islamic designs’ and ‘Celtic designs’.
